Funeral Services for Robert J. “Bob” Jensen will be conducted from the Congregational Bible Church in Red Cloud, Nebraska on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Craig Roberts officiating. Interment will be in the Red Cloud Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Cowles American Legion Post #116 in conjunction with the U.S. Navy Military Honors Team.

Bob Jensen, 84 years of age, of Holdrege, (formerly of the Red Cloud and Inavale, Nebraska area), passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Bob was born August 29, 1927 in Hastings, Nebraska the only son born to James “Jim” and Ruby (Haskins) Jensen. He received his education at the Inavale High School in Inavale, graduating with the class of 1944.

Bob was inducted in to the United States Navy on August 13, 1945 when he was only 17 years old. Bob worked as a Medic in the Navy.

On June 20, 1950, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Heffelbower.

Bob engaged in farming south of Inavale. His passion was his work. He also enjoyed cross word puzzles, gardening and was an avid reader.

Bob was a member of the Congregational Bible Church in Red Cloud.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lou in 2010; brother-in-law, David Heffelbower and his wife, Wilma.

He leaves to mourn his passing his son, James Jensen and his wife, Janet of Holdrege, Nebraska; daughters: Lydia Jensen of Bellevue, Nebraska, Kiley Maudlin and her husband, Terry of Inavale; three grandchildren: Jennifer Scheidies and her husband, Chris of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jessica Russell and her husband, Jeremy of Holdrege, Nebraska, Jimmy Jensen and his wife, Hiedi of Holdrege; 11 great-grandchildren: Makenna, Tyler, Devon, Dane, Victoria, Sheree, Teagan, Alixandria, Kamryn, Maci and Hadlie; along with many friends.

Visitation will be held prior to the funeral services on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Congregation Bible Church in Red Cloud.

A memorial has been established in his memory and kindly suggested to the family.
