Kathleen was born on August 19, 1917 in Moore, Idaho, the youngest of four children born to Charles F. and Tressa M. (Walker) Wagner. Following her graduation from Moore High School with the class of 1935, she came to Holdrege to visit her grandparents: Landy and Jane Walker. While in Holdrege, Kathleen met her husband to be, Milford J. Skoog. The couple were united in marriage on January 25, 1936 and to this union two children were born: Joan and Dan. They made their home on the farm southeast of Holdrege, where they lived, farmed and raised their family. On October 13, 1982, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milford.
In addition to the farm, Kathleen worked for many years at various jobs including employment at Shaffer Cleaners, and Paige Lindgren’s Bungalow in Holdrege. In 1969, Kathleen began working at B-D in Holdrege and was employed there until her retirement in 1983.
She was baptized in the Baptist Church in Arco, Idaho and then she joined the First Baptist Church of Holdrege after their marriage. She loved her family, gardening, and to travel, and took many trips with her husband, including numerous trips by motorcycle. Kathleen was active in her church and involved with the Becton-Dickinson Alumni. In 2003, she began to make her home at Holdrege Memorial Homes and took great pride in caring for the Holdrege Memorial Gardens. Through the years, Kathleen also made many friendship bonds being part of the H & P Neighborhood Club.
Besides her husband, Milford; Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, David Beckman; two sisters: Edna Jensen and Margaret Johnston; and one brother, Leland Wagner.
