Aileen K. Blank

A Funeral Service for Aileen K. Blank will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Holdrege Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Rhonda Wulf officiating. Interment will follow at the Freewater Cemetery in Ragan, Nebraska. Following the burial, a time of fellowship and refreshments will be held at the Ragan United Methodist Church.

Aileen Kay (Norman) Blank, 74, of Wilcox, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Aileen was born on November 9, 1950 in Holdrege, to George and Luella (Heidemann) Norman. She was baptized and confirmed at the Ragan United Methodist Church. Aileen graduated from Wilcox Public Schools with the class of 1969 and then went on to receive her teaching degree from Kearney State College, graduating in May of 1973.

On June 2, 1972, she was united in marriage to Roger W. Blank. Together, they were blessed with two children: Megan and Brett. She began teaching elementary at the Funk Community School in 1974, retiring in the spring of 2003. She then worked as a substitute teacher, tallying 30+ years of teaching. Aileen also worked at the Post Office in Wilcox and at Creative Teacher in Kearney, until they closed in 2018.

Aileen had a deep love for the Lord, attending church services in Ragan. She had a deep love for her grandchildren and their education. Aileen purchased school supplies for them every year, attended their school events, and was very proud of them all. She adored the children she taught over the years and meeting up with her fellow Funk school teacher friends.

Aileen is survived by her husband of 52 years, Roger of Wilcox; daughter, Megan Albrecht of Elm Creek; son, Brett (Shanda) Blank of Axtell; three grandchildren: Kasey, Austin and Kailee; brother, Kent (Kathy) Norman of Wilcox; two sisters: Imogene (Harold) Johnson of Lakewood, Colorado; and Connie Dake of Beatrice; brother-in-law, Ron (Sandra) Blank of Wilcox; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, George and Lavina Blank; sibling infant twins; son-in-law, Kevin Albrecht; and brother-in-law, Vance Dake.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Aileen's memory are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
