Funeral Services for Alda M. Kryder will be conducted from the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Murray Jones and Chaplin DeWane Dow officiating. Interment will follow at Moses Hill Cemetery north of Holdrege.
Alda Mae Kryder, 97 years of age, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Alda was born on February 7, 1914 the eldest of two children, to Ira and Emma (Diehl) Lautzenhiser near Dorchester, Nebraska. She attended rural primary school and graduated from Dorchester High School with the Class of 1932. Following graduation, Alda worked as a caregiver for the elderly and for the Crete Creamery during World War II.
On July 13, 1946 she was united in marriage to Harold O. Kryder. To this union one son was born: Richard. The family moved to Fullerton, California. Alda volunteered at various churches and stayed home to raise Richard. The couple moved back to Holdrege in 1979.
Alda enjoyed quilting and traveling with her husband. Alda was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege.
Alda was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and her brother, Elmore Lautzenhiser in 2010.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son Richard Kryder and his wife, Charlotte of Placentia, California; grandson, Allen Kryder of Placentia; and sister-in-law, Myra-Faye Lautzenhiser of Crete, Nebraska.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be designated to Kryder family to be designated later.
