Allen Robert Davisson, 69 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his home in Holdrege. Allen was born December 11, 1949, at Minden, Nebraska, the third of four children born to Dwight and Arlene (Swank) Davisson. He received his education at Franklin, Nebraska, where he graduated from Franklin High School with the class of 1968. He then pursued higher education at Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska, where he received his Associates Degree as a Machinist.
On September 3, 1970, he was inducted into the United States Army, where Allen received training in Germany, and then served his country during the Vietnam War. He was decorated with the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and was an expert marksman with the M16 at the time of his Honorable Discharge on April 4, 1972.
Following his service, Al returned back to Nebraska, where he pursued a career as a Machinist. In 1979, he was united in marriage to Carmen Haseloh in Hastings, and to this union one daughter, Shanna was born. The family made their home in Hastings.
Allen owned and operated Davisson Machine from 1987 – 1994 in Grand Island, Nebraska. Al's hobby of cars influenced him to put his talents to work helping friends build racing engines as well. Music was also a big part of Al's life; playing guitar, writing music, and singing in several bands throughout the years created fond memories. Al also had a deep faith in his Lord, and enjoyed using his music talents in the churches he was involved in.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Allen leaves to mourn his passing; his daughter, Shanna (Davisson) Fayle of Hastings; two grandchildren: Hudson and Della of Hastings; three sisters: Sandy Landin of Loup City, Nebraska; Jennifer Johnson of Kearney, Nebraska; and Sherry Davisson of Franklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Al's wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Al's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
