A Memorial Service for Alma "June" Cook will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Christian Homes Chapel, Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Mike Szekely and Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating.
A private graveside will be held at the Porter Springs Cemetery, near Porter Springs, Texas.
Alma "June" Cook, 98 years of age, of Holdrege, formerly of Wharton, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Christian Homes Care Community at Holdrege. June was born on August 2, 1926, in Concord, Texas, the fifth of five children born to Edgar and Mary (Watts) Lee. She was raised near Concord, Texas and attended and received her primary education from the Concord School System.
On February 16, 1946, June was united in marriage to Raymond Clifford Cook in Rockwall, Texas. The couple made their home in Texas where Raymond and June were blessed with one son, Phillip. In their retirement years, they enjoyed camping with their son, Phillip and his family. They moved to Holdrege in 1996.
She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Loomis, Nebraska. June enjoyed genealogy and her computer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Cook in 2002; and her parents.
June leaves to celebrate her life, her son, Phillip Cook and his wife, Debra of Holdrege; two grandchildren: Stacie Hinz and her husband, Kent of Smithville, Missouri; and Nathan Cook and his wife, Amy of Orlando, Florida; four great-grandchildren: Colby Hinz; Cayden Cook, Lium Cook; and Caleb Cook.
A private family viewing was held and cremation followed.
A memorial has been established in June's honor and kindly suggested to Lighthouse Baptist Church in Loomis, Nebraska.
