Funeral Services for Alma M. Reynolds will be conducted from Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford, Nebraska on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Thalia Woodworth, officiating. Following the traditional funeral, the family is honoring Alma's wish for cremation and a private family burial will be held at a later date in the Stamford Cemetery.

Alma Mae Reynolds, 72 years of age, of Stamford, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, Nebraska. Alma was born December 18, 1938 at Wayne, Nebraska, the daughter of Nelse and Helen (Boeck) Carlson. At a young age, Alma began to make her home with the Reverend Ed and Mildred Rohlfing at Homer, Nebraska. Ed and Mildred cared for and raised her as their own. She received her education from Homer, graduating from Homer High School with the class of 1956. They moved to Sedalia, Missouri, where she would meet her future husband. On December 1, 1962 she was united in marriage to Roy R. Reynolds in Sedalia and to this union four children were born: Debra, Roy Jr., Diane, and Ryan. Their first home was at Whiteman Air Force Base in Sedalia. The family resided in several different locations through the years during Roy's twenty years of service with the Air Force. In 1978, the family moved to Stamford.

Prior to her marriage, Alma worked in pediatrics at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. After her marriage, she focused on raising the children and supporting her husband. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford, where she was involved in several church organizations. Alma taught Sunday school for the nursery class for ten years. She was also daycare provider for twelve years.

Her interest included her family, friends, gardening, cooking and baking and she had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, one sister; and a great-nephew, Hesston Land.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Roy; four children: Debra Novak and her husband, Doug of Holdrege, Nebraska, Roy Reynolds Jr. and his wife, Alisa of Taos, New Mexico, Diane Huffman and her husband, Ed of Kansas City, Missouri and Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Krystal of Kearney, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Will McMann and his wife, Andrea of Norfolk, Nebraska, Luke McMann and his wife, Cassie of Hickman, Nebraska, Katherine Reynolds of Taos, Maddox and Brynleigh Reynolds both of Kearney, and Victoria and Alison Novak of Holdrege; two great-grandchildren: Tyler and Hannah McMann of Norfolk; four sisters; one brother; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford, Nebraska from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
