Andrew Ervin Wilson, 73 years of age, of Franklin, Nebraska, passed away, on May 11, 2021, at the Arbor Care Centers in Franklin. Andy was born on October 23, 1947, in Ord, Nebraska, the eldest of three children, born to Floyd E. and Gail H. (Jeffres) Wilson. He received his primary education from the Elba Public schools, where he graduated with the class of 1966. He pursued higher education and received his certificate in Auto Mechanics from Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska in 1968.
While at Central Community College, Andy met Connie Walline. On August 4, 1967, the couple were united in marriage in Hastings and to this union two children were born: Sheri and Brian. Following his graduation from college, the couple moved to Loup City, Nebraska and soon after Axtell, where Andy worked at the Axtell Coop and later the Funk Coop. Andy worked at the Eaton Corporation in Kearney, Nebraska until his retirement.
Andy enjoyed fishing and camping in his early years and later in life, he loved to golf and play horseshoes. The couple enjoyed their winters in Mesa, Arizona. Above all, Andy enjoyed spending time with his only granddaughter, Tessa Marie.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell and active on the Axtell Volunteer Fire Department.
Andy will be remembered for his giving personality; he would do anything for anyone. Everywhere he went he made friends; Andy would ride his golf cart around chatting with all the residents at the resort in Arizona. He might not remember your name but he definitely knew your dog's name.
Andy was preceded in death by: his mother, Gail Wilson; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lauren and Inez Walline; brother-in-law, Ronald Bryer; and one nephew Trevor Sok.
Andy is survived by his wife, Connie Wilson of Franklin; two children: Sheri Wilson and her partner, Patricia Bennett of Hickman, Nebraska; and Brian Wilson and his wife, Jeannie of Orleans, Nebraska; one granddaughter, Tessa Wilson; his father, Floyd Wilson of Elba; two siblings: Wayne Wilson of Elba; and Sandi Bryer of St. Paul, Nebraska; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Patty Abrahamson and her husband, John of Holdrege, Nebraska; and Bart Walline and his wife, Cheryl of Lincoln, Nebraska; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation or memorial book signing; the family is carrying out Andy's wish for anatomical donation.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Andy's honor, and kindly suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell or the Franklin Volunteer Fire and EMT Rescue Squad.
Expressions of caring and kindness can be sent to the family at www.nelsonbauerfh.com
The Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
