Graveside Services for Arlene Tillman will be conducted from the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege, Nebraska on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain DeWane Dow, officiating. Interment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery.
N. Arlene Tillman, 93 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the Christian Homes in Holdrege. Arlene was born November 15, 1912 in Harlan County, Nebraska north of Woodruff, Kansas, one of three children born to Samuel and Bertha (Creighton) Tillman. Arlene received her education at Holdrege, graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1933. Following her education, Arlene was employed in food service at the Hotel Dale in Holdrege for several years. She later moved to Kearney, Nebraska, where she worked at the TB Hospital for 18 years until it closed. Arlene then worked for Bethphage Mission now known as Mosaic for two years. In 1992 she returned to Holdrege and made her home at the Christian Homes.
She enjoyed reading, reminiscing of the past and being around people.
She leaves to mourn her passing her niece, Kathy Kelly of San Antonio, Texas and nephews: Jay Johnson of Kearney and Rod Pearson of Austin, Texas and their spouses. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Doralee Pearson and her husband, Leigh and Helen I. Johnson and her husband, Sterling.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
