Funeral Services for Arvola "Bodie" Knight will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Mr. Curtis Pfeil, officiating. Interment will be in the Stamford Cemetery at Stamford, Nebraska.

Arvola "Bodie" (Lubeck) Knight, 85 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Bodie was born August 8, 1925 at Leeper, Missouri, the youngest of thirteen children born to George and Fannie (Henson) Chastain. She received her education at St. Louis, Missouri, graduating from St. Louis High School. Bodie was the youngest daughter of a "one armed fiddler" and the family performed in Vaudeville performances in the St. Louis area. In her younger years, Bodie attended a Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and later in years she was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

On August 19, 1944, she was united in marriage to Robert Lubeck and to this union three children were born: Barbara, Debra, and Bobby. The family made their home in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where Bodie was employed as a secretary for KN Energy. Later in years, she was transferred with the gas company and continued her employment in Holdrege. She also provided cooking instruction on microwave and grill in schools for KN. In October 1962, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.

On August 8, 1969, she was united in marriage to Edward Knight in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. The couple resided in Scottsbluff and later moved to Holdrege. In 1986, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed. Bodie was a member of the Eastern Star and the D.O.E.S. Music was always a large part of Bodie's life; she won several talent contests on cruises and sang in night clubs with her good friend, Bob Ayres. She also had experienced some small parts in movies and was honored to place 8th on a National Starz Talent TV Show at the age of 80.

Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; and twelve brothers and sisters.

She leaves to mourn her passing her three children: Barb Hoton of Gladstone, Missouri, Debbie Greenamyer of Kansas City, Missouri, and Bobby Lubeck of Mokelumme Hill, California; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; companion in life, Bob Ayres of Holdrege; two sisters: Joyce Cronin of O'Fallon, Missouri, Patty Ferguson of Kansas City, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
