A Funeral Service for Ashlyn Ostgren will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege, with Pastor Jan Gluth King officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege.

Ashlyn June Ostgren Fulk, 27 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at her home in Holdrege, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with Burkitt's Lymphoma. Ashlyn was born on June 9, 1998, in Holdrege, the youngest of two children of Don and Wendy (Sandell) Ostgren. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church, and received her primary education from Washington Elementary and then attended and graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 2016.
During her early school years, Ashlyn enjoyed sleepovers and playing Barbie's with cousins and friends, playing piano, and putting together jigsaw puzzles, and was an active gymnast. She received numerous medals at state, competition, and the national level, as a gymnast. In high school, Ashlyn was active as a Twister's Dancer and with Duster Golf. She was very artistic and received statewide awards. Together the family enjoyed church and family ski trips, and spending time with her grandparents. She loved baking with her grandma's, listening to music and attending concerts with cousins. Ashlyn was also an animal lover and had a special bond with family pets.
Ashlyn pursued higher education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and attained her Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising. Following her education, she began working for The 308 Boutique. She had a special bond with her co-workers and customers and enjoyed helping people.
In 2021, Ashlyn met the love of her life, Dakota Fulk. Together the couple enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching movies, golfing and watching RHW. On May 13, 2024, Ashlyn and Dakota were blessed with a son, Brooklyn. She loved being blessed with good days to be a mother to Brooklyn.
Ashlyn enjoyed decorating her home and interior design. She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She loved God and had a strong faith in the Lord. She always strived to do her best, even to the point that she changed her golf swing.
She was preceded in death by two grandfathers: James "Jim" Ostgren; and Harold "Sandy" Sandell; her uncle, Todd Sandell; and Dakota's father, Dennis Fulk.
Ashlyn is survived by her son, Brooklyn; husband, Dakota Fulk of Holdrege; parents, Don and Wendy Ostgren of Holdrege; her brother, Caleb Ostgren and significant other, Ms. Taylor Griffith of Holdrege; two grandmothers: Marian Sandell; and Deanna Ostgren, both of Holdrege; maternal uncle and aunt: Craig Sandell and his wife, Donetta of Holdrege; and Carma Anderson and her husband, Doug of Funk, Nebraska; paternal aunts and uncle: Danna Wolford and her husband, Steve of Hastings, Nebraska; Dennis Ostgren and his wife, Diane; and Nancy Nelson and her husband, Mike all of Holdrege; Dakota's family: his mother, Susan (Myers) Fulk of Holdrege; his sister, Cheyenne Breinig and husband, Dillon of Atlanta, Nebraska; and nephew, Barron; his two paternal aunts: Janice (Fulk) Ludeke and her husband, Roger of Atlanta; and Kristi (Fulk) Thorell and her husband, Mike of Loomis, Nebraska; maternal uncles and aunts: Gary Myers of Shelton, Nebraska; Donna Myers of Central City, Nebraska; Randy Myers and his wife, Kerri of Bertrand, Nebraska; Virgene Johnson and her husband, Jerry of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; and Janet Myers of Clarks, Nebraska; one great-aunt, Gayle Fandry of Hastings, Nebraska; along with many cousins, extended family, and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege with the family present greeting from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, and designated to: Bethel Lutheran Church, an Education Fund for Brooklyn, or Donor's Choice.
