Audrey V Reiter

Celebration of Life Services for Audrey V. Reiter will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Murray Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Audrey Victoria Reiter, 92 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Audrey was born August 6, 1926 in Phelps County, Nebraska, the third child born to Oscar Edward and Hazel Lillian (Bragg) Florell. She attended District 66 rural school in Phelps County, and then Holdrege High School, graduating with the class of 1943.

On April 29, 1946, she married the love of her life, Warren Reiter in Holdrege. In their early years of marriage, the couple lived in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and McCook, Nebraska. The couple were then blessed with two children: Dennis Warren and Rachelle Victoria. In the 1950's, the family made their home on a farm north of Elm Creek, Nebraska, where Audrey focused on raising their children and tending to the house.

In 1964, the family moved to Holdrege, where Warren and Audrey started the General Service Agency. On July 8, 1972, she was preceded in death by Warren. After Warren's passing, Audrey continued working as a real estate and insurance agent.  A few years later, she sold the business to Dick Turner. Following the sale of the business, she worked as an Avon Sales Representative for 25 years, where she made many lasting friendships.

Audrey was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege. She enjoyed reading and listening to music. Audrey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Audrey was preceded in death by; her parents; husband, Warren; two grandchildren: Rozchel Mauri Mintzmyer and Jedidiah Charles Mintzmyer; and two brothers: Edward Florell and his wife, Irene; and Rusty Florell and his wife, Arlene.

She leaves to celebrate her life; her children: Dennis Reiter and his wife, Joan of Elm Creek; and Rachelle Mintzmyer and her husband, Charles of Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren: J. Charles Mintzmyer and his wife, Christina of Las Vegas, Nevada; Warren Reiter and his wife, Cathy of Lincoln, Nebraska; Christopher Reiter and his wife, Amber of rural Miller, Nebraska; Rachel Morrison and her husband, Kurt of Denver, Colorado; Jonathan Reiter and his wife, Rebecca of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; and JoAnna Bausch and her husband, Nick of Springfield, Nebraska;   13 great-grandchildren:  Garreth, Hannah, Jackson, Halle, Audrey, Katie, Caleb, Eli, Robert, Kate, Trinity, Ben, and Andy; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established in Audrey's honor, and kindly suggested to Christian Homes Care Community.
