The Celebration of Life for Barton D. Damrow will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Mt Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Kenton Birtell and Pastor Daren Popple officiating. Interment will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege following the services.

Barton Donald Damrow, age 34, son of Dennis and Sherry (Karlson) Damrow, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 surrounded by his family and friends at Bryan Medical Center-West Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska after a brief illness.

Barton was born in Holdrege on March 15, 1981. He graduated from Holdrege High School with the Class of 1999. He went on to further his education at Southeast Community College in Beatrice, Nebraska. After receiving his Associates Degree in Agribusiness, Barton continued his education at Northwest Missouri State, Maryville, Missouri receiving his Bachelor's Degree in landscape architectural design.

Barton moved back to Holdrege and has worked for his brother-in-law at Holdrege Irrigation for the past 14 years. He attended many classes with Reinke to become a certified expert in the field.

Growing up Barton's life revolved around the farm, his 4-wheelers and snowmobiles. He was excellent at taking everything apart, but never putting anything back together. He loved spending times at the cabin at Harlan County Lake riding his jet ski, boating and spending quality time with his family and friends. Those that knew Barton, knew his smile, his humor and his sidekick, Dexter.

Barton started wrestling at age three and continued throughout high school. He was chosen team captain his senior year. He also enjoyed football, lifting weights, and participating in 4-H showing cattle.

Besides his parents, Dennis and Sherry Damrow of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Barton is survived by; his sister and brother-in-law, Lynse and Tim Schmidt of Holdrege; three nephews: Austin, Cael, and Kaden Schmidt; maternal grandmother, Berdeen Karlson of Holdrege; aunts and uncles: Dudley and Linda Karlson of Holdrege; Mark and Brenda Wagner of Rosemount, Minnesota; Mary Jen Bear of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Linda and Gordon Slothower of Springdale, Arkansas; and Jodi Damrow of Holdrege; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Barton was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Burton Karlson; paternal grandparents: Don and June Damrow; uncles: Dick Damrow and Marty Damrow; and one cousin, Jason Wagner.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 7, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial will be established in Barton's honor and will be designated at a later date.
