A Memorial Service for Becky Fleischmann will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Alma United Methodist Church, Alma, Nebraska, with Reverend Tony DJ Serbousek and Reverend Jeff Goetzinger, officiating. A private inurnment will be held at the Orleans Cemetery, Orleans, Nebraska, at future time.

Rebecca Sue “Becky” (Artz) Fleischmann, 77, of Alma, went to join her Heavenly Father on Friday, October 2, 2026, after a brief stay at Bethany Homes in Minden, Nebraska. She’s leaving behind a legacy of love for God, family, and friends. She was born October 5, 1948, to Merle and Marian (Dickau) Artz in Orleans, Nebraska, the third of four children.

Becky attended Orleans Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1966. She graduated from Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska, and was employed by West Coast Fabrics in Denver, Colorado. Becky then moved to Alma, where she was hired by the Harlan County Health System, as a bookkeeper. She worked for Harlan County Health System for 46 years, four of which were as the acting Administrator.

She was married to David “DOC” Fleischmann at the Alma Methodist Church on June 20, 1981. This union was blessed with two children: Kent David and Katherine Ann. Becky was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a very good friend to MANY.

Becky loved to sing, and had a beautiful, powerful voice, which she used for many years, singing for weddings and funerals, along with her husband. She was an avid reader, assisted her good friend and neighbor grooming dogs, and her greatest passion was accounting. Along with her daily job, she helped friends with taxes, assisted with bookkeeping for the hospital auxiliary, and other small organizations.

Becky was preceded in death by: her parents, Merle and Marian of Orleans, Nebraska, her sisters: Patricia “Pat” Teck of Grand Junction, Colorado; and Deanna Kuskie of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gilbert and Margaret Fleischmann of Eustis, Nebraska; her brothers-in-law, Dan Fleischmann of Eustis; and Dick Fleischmann of Pocatello, Idaho.

Becky is survived by her husband, David “Doc” Fleischmann of Alma; children: Kent Fleischmann and wife, Tashia of Alma; and Katie Fleischmann of Elkhorn, Nebraska; grandson, Gage Fleischmann and significant other, Kaitlyn Little; and great-grandson, Hudson Fleischmann-Little, all of Elkhorn, Nebraska; her brother, Jim Artz and wife, Lorie of Wallace, Nebraska; brothers-in-law, Ron Teck of Grand Junction, Colorado; Gerald Kuskie of Omaha, Nebraska; and Don Fleischmann and wife, Janet of Cozad, Nebraska; sisters-in-law Glenda Fleischmann of Eustis, Nebraska; Sharon Fleischmann of Pocatello, Idaho; Dee Lusk of Funk, Nebraska; and Deb Westbrook and husband, Rusty of Elwood, Nebraska; as well as, many nieces and nephews, friends, and of course, her two favorite dogs: Sashia and Cinnamon.

There will not be visitation, viewing, or memorial book signing the evening prior.

Memorials in Becky’s honor are kindly suggested to the family for future designation.
