A memorial service for Benji J. Meyers will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Reverend Kenton Birtell officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, Nebraska.
Benji Joe Meyers, 44 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away, on August 19, 2024, at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Ben was born in Holdrege, Nebraska on April 1, 1980, the third of four children, born to David and Linda (Hilker) Meyers. He received his education and graduated from Loomis Public School in Loomis, Nebraska with the class of 1998.
On December 31, 2002, Ben was united in marriage to Stevie Edwards at the Nebraska Prairie Museum in Holdrege, Nebraska. Ben and Stevie have four children: Emily, Katie, Madison, and Tyson. The family made their home in Holdrege, Nebraska. Ben spent his adult life farming with his father until his passing on February 24, 2023. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and cooking, but he especially loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his dad, David Meyers; his father-in-law, Robert Edwards; and one granddaughter, Coralee Daniels.
Ben is survived by his wife, Stevie Meyers of Holdrege, Nebraska; four children: Emily Meyers and her fiancé, Caleb Daniels of Cozad, Nebraska; Katie Ritner and her husband Riley of Wilcox, Nebraska; Madison Williams and her husband, Nathan of Kearney, Nebraska; and Tyson Meyers of Kearney, Nebraska; his mom, Linda Meyers of Kearney, Nebraska; two grandsons: Braylen Holcomb; and Bowen Ritner; three sisters: Lisa LeClair and her husband, Brent of Funk, Nebraska; Lynette Verzal and her husband, Joe of Omaha, Nebraska; and Crissy Brennan and her husband Kory of Kearney, Nebraska; mother-in-law, Cheryl Edwards of Holdrege, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial book signing will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska.
Memorials in Ben's honor are suggested to the family for later designation.
