The family then relocated to Nebraska City, Nebraska, where she graduated from Nebraska City High School with the class of 1938.

Betty also welcomed Bill's daughter, Phyllis Edith into her life. The family made their home in Peru, Nebraska. Betty's focus in life was centered around her family. She lovingly cared for her husband, children and grandchildren, and welcomed into her life her great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Betty was a wonderful cook, talented seamstress, loved to play cards and board games with her family and enjoyed a good game of bridge with her friends.
