Funeral Services for Betty A. Dietz will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma, Nebraska with Chaplain William Bills officiating. Interment will follow at the Orleans Cemetery, at Orleans, Nebraska.
Betty Ann Dietz, 90 years of age, of rural Orleans, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at her home. Betty was born January 5, 1929, east of Huntley, in Harlan County, Nebraska, the second of three children born to Walter "Myron" and Bertha Jean (Sprague) Miller. She received her education from District #55 Cannavale County School, and later attended Huntley Public Schools, graduating from Huntley High School with the class of 1947.
On October 9, 1951, Betty was united in marriage to Bobby D. Dietz in Omaha, Nebraska, and to this union, they were blessed with four children: Barbara, Beverly, Brenda and Bryan. In February 1959, the family made their home on a farm, south of Orleans. Betty enjoyed working alongside Bobby on the farm.
Betty enjoyed it when family and friends would come out to the house to visit; watching and reading Westerns; and in the last months, shopping for dresses and shoes, with Bobby.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by; son-in-law, Dick Mikessell; brother, Bob Miller and his wife, Arlene; and sister, Wilma Kinnaman and her husband, Craig.
Betty leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, Bobby Dietz of rural Orleans; her children: Barbara (Mikessell) Miller and her husband, Delvis of Norton, Kansas; Beverly Moore and her husband, Jim of Glenvil, Nebraska; Brenda Moore and her husband, Michael of Lexington, Nebraska; and Bryan Dietz of Orleans; three granddaughters: Emily Moore; Alina Moore; and Rachel Payne; two great-grandchildren: Tenley and Westyn Prelle; three brothers-in-law: Willis Dietz of Orleans; Jim Dietz and his wife, Carol of Stamford, Nebraska; and Wayne Dietz and his wife, Sherry of Orleans; along with nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial has been established in Betty's honor and kindly suggested to the Orleans Fire & Rescue Squad.
