Betty Delores Henry, 86 years of age, of Grand Island, Nebraska, formerly of Holdrege, Nebraska passed away, on December 2, 2023, at Emerald Nursing and Rehabilitation Lakeview in Grand Island. Betty was born in Republican City, Nebraska on April 3, 1937, and was adopted by Pierre and Estelle (Beach) Hocquell. She received her education and graduated from North Platte High School, with the class of 1955.
Following her education, Betty started working at the Telephone Company in North Platte, Nebraska and that is where she met Bob Ellis. In September 1956, they were married in North Platte, and to this union, 3 children were born: Kelly, Lake, and Kim. After Kelly was born, they moved to Missouri. The marriage later ended in divorce.
On August 8, 1970, Betty was united in marriage to Jimmy Leon Henry. The couple made their home in Holdrege, Nebraska where Betty worked and retired from Becton Dickenson.
Betty enjoyed gardening, traveling, and doing crossword puzzles.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Jean; Connie; and Martha; and her brother-in-law, Larry Henry.
Betty leaves to celebrate her life her children: Kelly Drennan of Jefferson City, Missouri; Lake Ellis and his wife, Libby of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Kim Spencer of Leander, Texas; eight grandchildren: Ricky; Jimmy; Brooke; Tanner and his wife, Barbara; Hunter; Aaron and his wife, Grace; Skyler, and Brady and his wife, Taylor; five great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives, and friends.
There will be no viewing or visitation. The family is honoring Betty's wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Betty's honor and is designated to Emerald Nursing and Rehabilitation Lakeview at 1405 US-34, Grand Island, NE 68801
