Funeral Services for Beverly (Olmstead) Petet will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Overton, Nebraska with Pastor Doug Gahn and Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating. Interment will follow at the Overton Cemetery, Overton, Nebraska.
Beverly Louise Petet, 82 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Beverly was born on April 23, 1933 on her Grandpa Peterson's Farm near Overton, the eldest of three children born to Delbert and Frances (Peterson) Olmstead. On June 2, 1933, Beverly was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Overton and she became a member of the church on April 21, 1946. She attended school in Overton, graduating with the Overton High School class of 1951.
On December 20, 1956, Beverly was united in marriage to Glen Petet in Kearney, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Loomis. Beverly and Glen later divorced. She continued to make her home in Loomis and worked at Becton-Dickenson for 25 years. On November 2013, she began to make her home at the Christian Homes Care Community.
Beverly enjoyed being in her yard and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and the local coffee ladies. She was an amazing woman and the family will cherish the many memories made.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her mom's twin sister, Florence, whom she was extremely close with and aunts, Ruby and Ruth.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Rick Petet and his wife, Linda of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Kelly Selting and her husband, Steve of Omaha, Nebraska, Kristi Kuck and her husband, Chip of Bertrand, Nebraska and Teri Anderson and her husband, Bryce of Holdrege, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Cameron Petet, Leslie, Nicole and Adam Selting, Cody Kuck, Cassidy Hinze and her husband, Creighton, Chelby Fegter and her husband, Jay; great-grandson: Cooper Fetger; brothers, Glen Olmstead and his wife, Marlene and Allen Olmstead, both of Overton; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Beverly's honor and kindly suggested to the Christian Homes Care Community or the Alzheimer's Association.
