Memorial Services for Bob L. Furse will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Alma, Nebraska. Inurnment will follow at the Alma Cemetery at Alma.

Bobby Lee "Bob" Furse, 83 years of age, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017, at his home in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born April 13, 1934 in Alma, the younger of two children, to H.G. (Gay) and Elsie (Foltz) Furse of Alma and graduated from Alma High School. Bob went on to hold several occupations in Nebraska, Colorado, and Arizona; dry-cleaning, diesel mechanic, automotive mechanic, race car driver and stock car official, truck driver, and salesman. He found his favorite profession after his retirement, golf course ranger.           Bob was an avid fan of Nebraska Cornhusker Football and closely followed the Arizona professional teams. Upon retirement, he worked as a ranger for Phoenix area golf courses, allowing him opportunities to work on his golf game, as well as trading stories with others.

Bob loved his family. He and Marilyn hosted several annual family reunions in their Phoenix home. He will be missed by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family, and friends.      He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jean Birt and husband, Dean; and stepson, Monte.

He is survived by: his wife of 26 years, Marilyn (Yates) Furse of Phoenix; four children: Aaron Furse of Phoenix, Garold Furse and his wife, Roxanne of Lincoln, Nebraska; Larry Furse of Whittier, California and Cynthia Geu and her husband, Dave of Nathrop, Colorado; five step-children: Derreck, Tia, Rick, Becky, and D'Nae; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30AM, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Rd., Phoenix, Arizona.

The family is honoring Bobby's wish for cremation. There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established in Bob's honor and will be designated at a later date.
