Graveside Services and Inurnment for Bonnie D. "Susie" Baxter will be conducted from the Fridhem Cemetery, east of Funk, Nebraska on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with her family officiating.
Bonnie Dee "Susie" Baxter, 75 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Harlan County Health Systems in Alma. Bonnie was born March 21, 1941 at Arapahoe, Nebraska, the youngest of nine children born to Leslie and Elizabeth (Buhler) Baxter. She received her education from a rural school near Arapahoe, Nebraska.
At a young age, Bonnie made her home in several institutions until making her permanent home at Mid-Nebraska Individual Services in Oxford, where she was active working in the workshop and enjoyed many friendship bonds formed throughout the years. She enjoyed decorating her apartment and making it comfortable for herself. Bonnie would also look forward to shopping sprees and garage sales. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats, dogs and horses. Her collection of dolls was a source of entertainment for her, as well as putting puzzles together.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; sisters: Berdina Miller and her husband, John, Betty Reagan and Darlene Baxter; brothers: Barney Baxter and his wife, Lois, Leslie Baxter Jr. and John "Butch" Baxter and brother-in-law, Al Walker.
She is survived by one sister, Roberta "Bertie" Walker Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Don Baxter and his wife, Dorothy of Hilo, Hawaii; sister-in-law, Rogene Baxter of Minden, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Bill Reagan of Lexington, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation, the family is honoring her wish of cremation.
A memorial has been established in Bonnie's honor and kindly suggested to the Mid-Nebraska Individual Services in Oxford.
