Funeral Services for Bonnie M. Freburg will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church in rural Loomis, Nebraska with Pastor Brad Perry and Pastor Craig Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at the Moses Hill Cemetery in rural Phelps County, Nebraska.
Due to health concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, current CDC and Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services guidelines for Faith-Based Services will be followed. The Freburg family sincerely encourages each person to make their decision whether to attend Bonnie's services based on the best interest of your health and that of your community. Bonnie Mae Freburg, 82 years of age, of Bertrand, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. Bonnie was born on September 30, 1937, the youngest of three children, on the family farm, Northwest of Holdrege, in Phelps County, to Ralph and Ruby (Anderson) Billeter. She received her primary education from Moses Hill District #4 and then attended and graduated from Loomis High School, with the class of 1955. Bonnie pursued higher education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for three summers.
On January 13, 1957, she was united in marriage to Paige Dennis Freburg at the Moses Hill Covenant Church. To this union three children were born: Neva Mae, Scott Paige, and Lori Ann. The family made their home north of Loomis, where the couple farmed together from 1954 until they moved into Bertrand in 1984. Bonnie was also employed in food service for the Bertrand Community School for 21 years. On December 24, 2011, Paige preceded Bonnie in death.
Bonnie enjoyed painting and sewing. She loved to spend time outdoors tending to her garden and flowers, camping and fishing. Bonnie was famous for her decorated Christmas cookies and decorating her home for the holidays. She was a member of the Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church, and extension clubs in her younger years.
Bonnie was preceded in death by; her parents; her husband, Paige (1931-2011); brother, Bill Billeter (1934-2006); sister, Betty Wilken (1933-2018) and husband, LeRoy (1929-1995); and Paige's two brothers and seven sisters: Wallace Freburg (1912-1992); Goldie Scheeler (1913-2001); Phelps Freburg (1915-2007); Louise Brandt (1918-1992); Loraine Woodward (1921-1990); Mary Jane Jenkenson (1923-1950); Grace Waugh (1926-1999); Mardell Good (1928-2003); and Rosalie Humphrey (1934-1986).
Bonnie leaves to mourn her passing; her three children: Neva Klemme and her husband, Steve of Kearney; Scott Freburg of Bertrand; and Lori Anderson and her husband, Roger of North Platte, Nebraska; six grandchildren: Shane Kuck of Santa Cruz, California; Cale Klemme of Santa Cruz, California; Brooke Lukasiewicz and her husband, Matt of St. Paul, Nebraska; Shawna Freburg and her fiance, Bob Carlson of Murdock, Minnesota; Tracy Wid and her husband, Bo of North Platte; and Dana Anderson of North Platte; six great-grandchildren: Aiden and Layton Lukasiewicz; Jhaylen Freburg; Ahnaya and Caleigh Carlson; and Cora Wid; sister-in-law, Carol Billeter of Holdrege; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be held at on Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
Memorials are kindly suggested to: the Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church; the Bertrand Fire and Rescue; or to the donor's choice.
