Bonnie J Journey

Bonnie June Journey, 77 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska passed away unexpectantly at her home in Holdrege on Thursday, July 5, 2012. Bonnie was born June 22, 1935 in Cambridge, Nebraska, the only child of Alfred and Bernice "Bee" (Overhollser) Barnes.

Bonnie attended school in Clay Center, Nebraska, Springfield, Missouri and Holdrege.

On September 5, 1953 she was united in marriage to Ralph Edward Journey at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and the couple made their home in Holdrege.

Bonnie was employed at the Zepher Café in Holdrege for two years, cleaned homes for 14 years, and helped care for her parents.

She enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling.

Besides her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law: Ed Journey, Ervin Journey; one sister-in-law, Josephine Orsborn; one step-brother; and one step-sister.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; two sisters-in-law: Blanche Worthing and her husband, Patrick of Elm Creek, Nebraska, Marylin Schukar and her husband, Russ of Omaha, Nebraska; three brothers-in-law: Jerry Journey and his wife, Joan of Georgetown, Texas, Wayne Journey and his wife, Sue of Del Rio, Texas, Otto Orsborn of Woodriver, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.

A memorial has been established and will be designated at a later date.
