Bruce Glaydon Carnes, 77 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, July 2, 2022, after a short illness, at the Good Samaritan Society Colonial Villa in Alma. Bruce was born in Ames, Iowa, on June 20, 1945, born to Gayel Carnes, an engineering professor, and Vera Graf Carnes, a home economics teacher. In 1955, the family moved to La Junta, Colorado, where Bruce graduated from high school in 1963. In high school, Bruce was active in sports and was Student Body President. He pursued higher education and received degrees in Bachelor of Arts in Business and Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado. Bruce was also a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

On July 2, 1971, Bruce was united in marriage to Theresa Ferguson, and to this union, two children were born: Eric and Kathryn. The couple made their home in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Bruce spent most of his career as a Mortgage Broker in Florida. After Bruce retired, he moved to Alma, Nebraska where he was very happy living. Bruce made many new friends and enjoyed living near family. He was generous with his time, helping many people in any way that he could. Bruce's parents made sure that he visited his Nebraska cousins often as they were growing up. He and his nine cousins all consider each other as siblings, and have enjoyed that special relationship throughout their lives.

Bruce is remembered for his generous spirit and acts of kindness to others.  He was a faithful member of AA and Peace Lutheran Church.

Bruce was preceded in death by: his parents; his daughter Kathryn Carnes, who sadly passed away two weeks after Bruce, due to a lengthy illness

Bruce is survived by his son, Eric Carnes and his wife, Michelle of Naples, Florida; one sister, Janis Goosmann and her husband, Richard of Powell, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Bruce's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
