Bruce E. Thulin, 65 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his farm south of Oxford following a battle with cancer. A private family celebration of life service for Bruce E. Thulin will be held at a later date.
Bruce Eugene Thulin was born June 20, 1951 at Holdrege, Nebraska, the eldest of three children born to Milton "Tillie" Thulin and Phyllis (Broeker) Thulin. Bruce received his education from Oxford Public School and graduated from Oxford High School with the class of 1969. He then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska - School of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, Nebraska.
Following his education, Bruce engaged in business in southcentral Nebraska and founded Bruce Thulin Insulation Inc.
On February 7, 1984 he was united in marriage to Joyce E. Smith and to this union one daughter, Kaitlin Chelsea was born. The family continued to reside in Oxford, where Bruce was engaged in several enterprises throughout the years. In recent years, Bruce engaged in truck driving until his health began to fail.
Bruce had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his dogs. He enjoyed traveling and gardening was a favorite past-time.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his father, Milton Thulin.
Bruce is survived by his spouse, Joyce Thulin of Oxford; his daughter, Kaitlin Thulin and her fiancé, Brandon Goebel both of Oxford; his mother, Phyllis Thulin of Beaver City, Nebraska; siblings: Tom Thulin of Arizona and Cindi Barto of Kearney, Nebraska; his care taker, Connie Foster of Edison, Nebraska and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Bruce's wish for cremation and private family services.
A memorial has been established in Bruce's honor and will be designated at a later date.
