Bryan L. Meyer

A Funeral Service for Bryan L. Meyer will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the River of Life Church in Bertrand, Nebraska, with Pastor Joe Wilken officiating.  Interment will follow at the Hope Lutheran Cemetery in rural Smithfield, Nebraska, with Military Honors provided by the United States Air Force Funeral Honors Team.

Bryan Lee Meyer, 75 years of age, of Bertrand, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Bryan was born in Holdrege on October 7, 1950, the second of four children, born to Robert and Jean (Cobb) Meyer. He received his education from the Bertrand Community School and graduated with the class of 1968.

Following his education, Bryan worked at Anderson Plumbing and Heating in Holdrege as a HVAC technician.

Bryan was inducted into the United States Army in 1969 and served two years in Germany.  He then enlisted into the United States Air Force, retiring with 38 years of service in October 2010.

On October 19, 1974, Bryan was united in marriage to Rosanna Dahlgren at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege and to this union three children were born:  Michelle, Jonah, and Daniel. The couple made their home in Bertrand, and together they enjoyed skiing, family vacations, and traveling.

In his free time, Bryan enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to talk radio.  He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, the VFW, American Legion and the Bertrand VFD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jean Meyer; a brother, Alan; son, Jonah; father-in-law, Willie Dahlgren; mother-in-law, Joan (Anders) Dike; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Dahlgren.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Rosanna Meyer of Bertrand; their children Michelle Carroll and husband, Tim of Grand Island, Nebraska; and Daniel Meyer and wife, Rosalynda of Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven grandchildren: Eli, Isaac, Owen and Vivian Carroll; and Keira, Lincoln and Bradley Meyer; his brother, Dale Meyer and wife, Kathleen of London, United Kingdom; his sister, Carla McGrath and husband, Rick of Henderson, Nevada; brothers-in-law: Rick Dahlgren and his wife, Jill of Axtell, Nebraska; and Frank Dahlgren of rural Funk, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Joey Kugler and husband, Robert of Bertrand; along with nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Bryan's honor, and kindly suggested to the Bertrand Volunteer Fire Department.
