Celebration of Life Service for Carla C. Hatch will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Chaplain Thayne Moore officiating.
Carla Colene Hatch, 81 years of age, of Minden, Nebraska (formerly of Kearney and Holdrege) passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Bethany Home in Minden. Carla was born February 19, 1936, at Orleans, the third of four children, born to Carl F. and Myrtle Marie (Blum) Bennett. She attended Orleans Public School, and graduated from Orleans High School with the class of 1953.
On March 5, 1958, she was united in marriage to Stanley G. Larsen, and to this union three children were born: Ronald, Raymond, and Cynthia. The family moved to Holdrege in 1963, where Stanley operated a television repair shop, and Carla worked as a waitress at the Cozy Inn Café for many years. After retirement, she relocated to Kearney, where she enjoyed attending the Fifty-Sixth Street Baptist Church. Since 2009, due to her failing health, she made her home at the Bethany Home.
Carla had a passion for cross-stitching, sewing, and quilting. She also loved making tablecloths and quilt tops.
Besides her parents; Carla is preceded in death by two sisters: Dora Lee Larsen and her husband, Kenneth, and Reta Artz and her husband, George; and one brother, Joe Bennett.
She is survived by her three children: Ronald Larsen of Hastings, Nebraska; Raymond Larsen of Holdrege, and Cynthia Goeking and her husband, Dale of St. Libory, Nebraska; four grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dolores Bennett of Lincoln, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
There will be no visitation, as the family is honoring her wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Carla's honor, and will be designated at a later date.
