A Funeral Service for Carol Jean Asche will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Republican City, Nebraska with Mr. Gary Janssen officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

Carol Jean Asche, 82 years of age, of CountryHouse in Kearney, formerly of Huntley, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at CountryHouse. Carol was born on September 27, 1939, in Minden, Nebraska, the second of four children born to Clarence Andrew and Hildur (Bayer) Christensen. She received her education from Holdrege Public Schools, in Holdrege, Nebraska, graduating with the class of 1957.

On March 9, 1958, she was united in marriage to Dale Roger Asche at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, and to this union, four children were born: Roger, Sheila, Wanda, and Mark. The family made their home on a farm east of Huntley. Carol was employed as the office manager at the Commercial State Bank in Republican City until her retirement.

As a young couple they attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Republican City. Carol was a faithful member and served in many capacities including, church board member, and Sunday school teacher.  Then they attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth, Nebraska where Carol was an active member of the choir.  In the last 10 years they have transferred back to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Republican City. Carol enjoyed taking photos and vacationing with Dale, singing in the Barbershop Choir, gardening, quilting and crocheting. But most of all, she treasured the times spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by; her brother, Jim Christensen; five brothers-in-law: Roderick Landers; Larry Jones; Wesley Asche; Ivan Groothuis; Neil Asche; three sisters-in-law: Gwen Larson and her husband, Francis; Janice Zackery and her husband, John; Ophelia Asche.

She leaves to celebrate her life her husband, Dale Asche of Huntley; four children: Roger Asche and his wife, Janel of Gretna, Nebraska; Sheila Daily and her husband, Dale of Holdrege; Wanda Schepler and her husband, Bradley of rural Wilcox, Nebraska; and Mark Asche and his wife, Trish of rural Burrton, Kansas; 10 grandchildren: Sarah Devries and her husband, Nate; Logan Asche; Jarod Asche; Allison Asche; Amanda Daily; Tyler Daily; Gregory Schepler and his wife, Mary; Nathaniel Schepler; Jeremy Schepler; and Keri Asche; four  great-grandchildren: Jack Seeber; Aaliyah and Frederick "Ricky" Williams; and Theo Schepler; two sisters: Reverend Sylvia Landers of Norfolk, Nebraska; and Linda Christensen of Omaha, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Wayne Asche and his wife, Barbara of Republican City; Kenneth Asche of Ogallala, Nebraska; sister-in-law Mary of Columbus, sister-in-law: Charlotte Christensen of Omaha; Beth Asche of Omaha; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.  There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in Carol's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
