A Mass of Christian Burial for Carol L. Boysen will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege, with Father Jay Buhman as Celebrant. Following the traditional mass, cremation will take place and a private family inurnment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Axtell.

Carol Lee Boysen, 79, of Holdrege, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. Carol was born on February 24, 1946, in Sterling, Colorado, the fourth of eight children of George and Nona (Hradecky) Harms.  She received her primary education in Fleming, Colorado and then attended and graduated from Grand Island Catholic High School with the class of 1963.

On February 1, 1969, she was united in marriage to Frank Boysen at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island and together they were blessed with seven children: Jodi, Antje, Toby, Roby, Dominick, Kassandra, and Zaneta. She worked for a short time in Grand Island teaching third grade, and then McDonald's Clothing in Holdrege. When she and Frank began starting a family, Carol found work to help support her family at the Holdrege High School as a cook. She then pursued higher education and attained her Associate's Degree at Central Community College and graduated with honors in 1992. Carol was then employed at Behavioral Health Services in Holdrege, for many years until the office closed. Most recently, Carol was working for the Probation Office in Holdrege until her retirement.

She was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church, serving on the Altar Society and participated regularly in adoration. Carol was a 48-year member of the Atlanta Neighborly Neighbors and served as a past president.

She enjoyed scrapbooking, collecting all types of hearts, and enjoyed receiving a manicures and pedicures with her family. Carol enjoyed flowers, especially red roses.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her in-laws, Andy and Anna Boysen; infant daughter, Kassandra; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; 3 brothers-in-law; and 1 sister-in-law.

Carol is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank Boysen of Holdrege; her six children: Jodi Hingst and her husband, Robert of Wayne, Nebraska; Antje Kindt and her husband, Dean of Kearney; Toby Boysen and his wife, Angela of Omaha; Roby Boysen and his wife, Kimberley of Kearney; Dominick Boysen and his wife, Julie of Kearney; and Zaneta Journey and her husband, Aries of Kearney; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, David (Tong) Harms; two sisters: Jodi Perrelet; and Christine (Lonnie) Wanek; sisters-in-law: Mel Harms and Helen Klimas; brother-in-law, Ted (Marlene) Boysen; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.  A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation.
