Memorial Services for Carol E. Eckhardt will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Reverend Jean Clayton officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege prior to the service.

Carol Eva Eckhardt, 90 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska (formerly of Estes Park, Colorado and Mission, Texas), passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege. She was born on January 25, 1920 on the family farm north of Alma in Harlan County, Nebraska, the second of three children born to B. Frank and Mabel Ann (Potter) Termin. She received her education at Ragan, Nebraska, graduating with the Ragan High School class of 1937.

On October 18, 1938 Carol was united in marriage to Lyle Raymond Eckhardt at Phillipsburg, Kansas and to this union three children were born: Kent, Kim and Connie. They made their home in Harlan County, where they farmed. In 1970 they retired from farming and moved to Estes Park, Colorado then wintered in Mission, Texas. While living in Estes Park, Carol volunteered at the Estes Park Hospital. Lyle passed away in 1994.

Carol was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ragan.

Besides her parents and husband, Lyle, Carol was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Rademacher and her husband, Herman; one brother, Frank Termin, Jr. and his wife, Ellen.

She leaves to mourn her passing her three children: Kent Eckhardt and his wife, Diana of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Kim Eckhardt and his wife, Francis of Vancouver, Washington, Connie Austin and her husband, Neil of Ainsworth, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Loretta Boumann of Hastings, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Phelps County Senior Center, or to the Ragan United Methodist Church.
