Carol Ann Scheel, 65 years of age, of Bertrand, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Bertrand Nursing Home. Carol was born December 30, 1945 in Lexington, Nebraska, the youngest of two daughters born to Harvey and Leola (Suhr) Scheel. Carol received her education at Smithfield. Carol spent the majority of her life on the farm north of Smithfield with her parents. She enjoyed farm life. Carol had a special place in her heart for animals, especially a special bond with her cats. She always looked forward to family get-togethers and special friend visits. Carol enjoyed listening to music, watching TV and reminiscing from photos of the past. She also had a special dedication of remembering every birthday of family members and close friends.

Due to the failing health of her parents, they began to make their home at the Bertrand Nursing Home since 1995.

Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra L. Eastwood and her husband, Sonny.

Carol leaves to mourn her passing her nephew, George Fong and his wife, Lori of rural Smithfield; one great-nephew, Mathew Fong and his wife, Kaleena and their daughter, Vivian Noelle Fong of Hastings, Nebraska; one great-niece, Rebecca Carol Fong of Denver, Colorado; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held prior to the services at the church on Monday.
