Carson Cody Williams, 92 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Carson was born June 14, 1924 at Stratton, Nebraska, the youngest of three children born to Joe and Eva (Edwards) Williams.

Carson received his education from Stratton Public School, where he graduated from Stratton High School with the class of 1942. He then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and later the Texas Business College in Austin, Texas.

During WW II, Carson served his country in the United States Navy. He served as a sonar operator on a Submarine Chaser in the Pacific Theater. On May 28, 1944, Carson was united in marriage to Dolores Ramelow on Treasure Island, in San Francisco, California. To this union one son, Mike was born. The family made their home in Austin, Texas for a short time after the war, until settling to the family farm in Furnas County, southwest of Stamford. Carson was employed as the Post Master in Stamford, Nebraska for 20 years. He also engaged in farming in 1945, southwest of Stamford until turning the farm over to his son, Mike. Following retirement the couple moved to Holdrege. Carson and Dolores celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary in May of 2014, prior to Dolores' passing on November 16, 2014.

Carson and Dolores enjoyed attending the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, and after making his home at Christian Homes, he enjoyed the Christian Homes Chapel services. Carson was also a sports enthusiast; he was an avid hunter, and most of all he loved to follow his grandchildren's activities during high school years.

Besides his wife, Dolores, and his parents; Carson was preceded in death by one sister, Zelda Skinner; one brother, Harold Williams; and sister-in-law, Ruth Eschenbrener and her husband, Allen.

He leaves to celebrate his life; his son, Mike Williams and his wife, Becky of Holdrege; two grandchildren: John Williams and his wife, Michelle of Holdrege, and Jodi Rust and her husband, Jeff of Lincoln, Nebraska; four great-grandchildren: Bailey and Brennan Williams, and Emma and Claire Rust; and a host of other relatives and friends.
