Cassandra Ann Broeker, 29 years of age, of Denver, Colorado (formerly of Oxford, Nebraska) passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 in Denver, Colorado at the Denver Health Center.

Cassie was born May 18, 1982 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Leslie L. and Mary Ann (Kruback) Broeker. She attended Oxford Elementary and Junior High School and was one of the first classes to attend Southern Valley High School, where she graduated in 2000.

Cassie was married to Heath Hammond in 2001, at which time they lived in Omaha, Nebraska and she worked at ConAgra Foods as a commodity analyst from 2001-2004. After her time at Con-Agra, Cassie worked at KAAPA Ethanol, LLC at Minden, Nebraska as an account assistant from 2004-2007. Cassie's life went in an entirely new direction when she decided to attend dental hygiene school at Central Community College, where she graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in 2009. She enjoyed working with patients and was most recently employed as a dental hygienist with Associates in Family Dentistry at Aurora, Colorado.

Cassie will be remembered as an independent, adventurous, and fun-loving young woman whose smile was contagious.

Cassie will be deeply missed by her parents: Leslie L. and Mary Ann Broeker of Oxford; her sister, Margaret "Maggie" Folkers and her husband, Jeff and their sons: Joshua and Jacob all of Reno, Nevada; her brother, Yancy Broeker and his wife, Brenda and their sons: Preston and Logan all of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandmother, LoRee Broeker of Oxford; uncle, Glen Broeker and aunt, Sharalee Broeker of Oxford; uncle, Ron Kruback and aunt, Sharon Kruback of Holdrege; her dog, Einstein, her cat, Sassy and a multitude of cousins, co-workers and friends.

Cassie was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ruben L. Kruback, grandmother, Virginia E. Kruback and grandfather, Kenneth C. Broeker.

At Cassie's request there will be no formal memorial service but a celebration of Cassie's life will be announced at a later date.
