Catherine Alice "Cathy" Wheeler, 55 years of age, of Edison, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at her home in Edison, following a courageous battle of several illnesses.  Cathy was born September 8, 1964 in Chandler, Oklahoma, the fourth of seven children born to Carl Alfred "C.A." and Georgia Ann (Forbis) Burger.  She received her education at Davenport, Oklahoma, and later in years she was proud of the fact that she received her GED at Beaver City, Nebraska.

Cathy was united in marriage to Randy Lee Wheeler on December 17, 1979 at Wheeler, Texas.  The couple made their home in Edison in 1988.  Throughout the years, Cathy and Randy helped raise several foster children.  Cathy focused her efforts as a homemaker, and also worked as a CNA in several area nursing homes.  She loved caring for the elderly.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.  Being raised in Oklahoma, she was a die-hard Oklahoma Sooners fan.

Cathy was preceded in death by: her father, CA Burger; two sisters:  Carol Anita at three years of age, and Carla Peterson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law:  Ernest and Geneva Wheeler; sister-in-law, Kathleen McQuilliams; brothers-in-law: Vern Wheeler; Tommy Wheeler and his wife, Kandy; and Frank Campbell; a niece, Lauren; and a nephew, Jayson DeBaun.

She leaves to celebrate her life: her husband of almost 40 years, Randy Wheeler of Edison; her mother, Georgia

Ann Burger of Amarillo; three sisters:  Connie Bradford and her husband, Kevin of Amarillo, Texas; Caren Finney and her husband, James Morris of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and Cheri Lesperance of El Reno, Oklahoma; one brother, Christopher Burger of Amarillo; sisters-in-law:  Charlene Campbell of Edison; Sandy Smith of Arapahoe, Nebraska; and Sharon Wheeler of Kearney, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Alvin McQuilliams of Duncan, Oklahoma; one nephew who was raised like their son, Larry DeBaun of Amarillo; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

There will be no viewing, the family is honoring her wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Cathy's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
