Charlotte Ann Gaughenbaugh, 92 years of age, of Republican City, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at her home in Republican City. Charlotte was born February 18, 1926 in Fairbury, Nebraska, to Charles and Bessie (Little) Boyd. She received her education and graduated from Fairbury High School in 1944.

On January 11, 1947, she was united in marriage to Leroy Hock in Kansas City, Kansas, in a double wedding with Leroy's cousin. To this union, one daughter was born: Sharon Le. Shortly after Sharon's birth, Leroy died in a tanker truck explosion. While living in Fairbury, the couple was active in the First Baptist Church.

In 1975, Frank retired from the couple's Home Decorating Store and two years later in 1977, Charlotte retired from the store and they moved to Republican City, where they both enjoyed fishing. They were members of the Republican City United Methodist Church, where they were active in the congregation. The enjoyed spending winters in Hidalgo, Texas, where they worked at a mission and also in Mexico, at an orphanage. They both enjoyed working with the Mexican people.

Charlotte enjoyed sewing; making dresses, quilts, and "old dolls", making over 4,153 dolls, to give to the Mexican Missions at Christmas time. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Fairbury and Republican City, where she enjoyed the fellowship with the ladies, as long as she was able to attend the meetings.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Leroy and Frank; step-son, George Gaughenbaugh; two brothers: James Boyd and his wife, Jean and Mike Riley; a sister: Harriet and her husband, Willis; a grandson, Toby Scheuler; and son-in-law, Timothy Hoppe.
