Funeral Services for Charlotte A. Post will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at the Republican City United Methodist Church in Republican City, Nebraska with Reverend Jim Bendorf and Pastor Terry Post officiating. Interment will follow at the Naponee Cemetery, at Naponee, Nebraska.
Charlotte Ann (Lennemann) Post, 86 years of age, of Beatrice, Nebraska, (formerly of Naponee) passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at the Whispering Winds Cottage in Beatrice. Charlotte was born on September 6, 1933, in Orleans, Nebraska, one of six children born to Theodore and Bertha (Hoffman) Lennemann. Charlotte received her primary education from Alma Public Schools and later graduated from Alma High School, with the class of 1951.
On July 2, 1951, she was united in marriage to Walter "Lynn" Post. To this union five children were born: Terry, Alan, Debbie, Tracy, and Troy. The family made their home in Naponee, where they enjoyed time spent at the Harlan County Reservoir. Charlotte was employed by the Franklin Memorial Hospital for a number of years. On June 28, 1989, Lynn preceded her in death.
On January 11, 2003, Charlotte was united in marriage to Keith L. "Swede" Fastenau.
Charlotte enjoyed oil painting, time spent with the Klatter Klub, shopping, attending her grandchildren's activities, having coffee with her friends, and sending cards for every occasion. Through the years, Charlotte held church memberships at the Congregational Church in Naponee; United Methodist Church in Republican City; and Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Smithfield, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by; her parents; two husbands: W. Lynn Post and Keith "Swede" Fastenau; son, Alan D. Post in infancy; four brothers: Walter Lennemann; Thomas Lennemann; Jerrold (Dee) Lennemann; and Leo Lennemann; one sister, Janet Conant; brother-in-law, Francis Post; and sister-in-law, Joy (Don) Sindt.
Charlotte leaves to celebrate her life: her children: Terry Post and wife, Roberta of McPherson, Kansas; Debbie Cromer and husband, Bob of Aurora, Colorado; Tracy Post and wife, Starla of Beatrice; and Troy Post and wife, Jana of North Bend, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren: Nathan, Katie, Levi, Micah, Danny, Kelsie, Carson, Kendall, Jack, Abby, Noah, and Samuel; five great-grandchildren: Ezra, Raegan, Grayson, Quade, and Oliver; step-mother, Mildred Post of Kearney, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Don Conant of Orleans, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Donna Post of Naponee; Swede's family: daughter, Mary Fastenau (John Flanagan) of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter, Jane Fastenau of Lafayette, Colorado; son, Jim Fastenau of Omaha; and daughter, Amy Fastenau (Mike Michel) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and their families; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma, Nebraska.
A memorial has been established in Charlotte's honor, to be designated to the Naponee Park.
