Private Family Memorial Services for Cheryl L. Mattison-Burns will be held at a later date.
Cheryl Lea Mattison-Burns, 72 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. Cheryl was born January 29, 1948, at Red Cloud, Nebraska, the youngest of four children born to Edward and Keturah (Lain) Zade.
Following her education, Cheryl married Dennis Huxoll in 1965 and to this union four children were born: Christina, Diana, Edd, and Robert. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Cheryl ran a daycare out of their home. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Cheryl loved being around her family and friends. She would always take her grandchildren to the pumpkin patch and got together quite often to play board games and cards. She enjoyed going to the movies. You could often find Cheryl praying and reading scripture. She was always putting others before herself.
Besides her parents; Cheryl was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon and her husband, Allen Dedrick; grandson-in-law, Ben Berroth.
She leaves to celebrate her life; her four children: Christina Remmenga and her husband, Tom of Bertrand; Diana Ritzel and her husband, Michael of Gleason, Wisconsin; Edd Huxoll and his wife, Erica of Sutton; and Robert Huxoll and his wife, Rose of Murrieta California; 11 grandchildren: Noelle Ortgiesen and her husband, JD; Lacey Berroth; Jade Remmenga; Jason Remmenga; Brandon Johnson and his wife, Karie; Aliva Huxoll; Jacob Huxoll; Max Huxoll; Rick Huxoll; Jozlynn Huxoll; Kaylie Huxoll; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings: Gwen Quig and her husband Allen Casper Wyoming; Virgil Zade of Red Cloud; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
There will be no visitation, or memorial book signing. The family is honoring Cheryl's wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Cheryl's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
