Colter Alan Bronstad Sr., 36 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 as the result of a car accident. Colter was born on May 3, 1984, in Holdrege, to James and Rhonda (Ekberg) Bronstad. He received his primary education from Holdrege Public Schools and later graduated from Holdrege High School, with the class of 2003. Growing up, Colter played all sports but his favorite was wrestling.
Following his education, Colter worked for Sargent Irrigation. On October 1, 2005, Colter married Lindsey Penrod and to this union they were blessed with three children: Mercadese, Jerzey, and Colter Jr. Colter was a father-figure for Lindsey's son Jordan. The marriage later ended in divorce.
In 2015, Colter reunited with Andi Laverack his high school sweetheart and the couple married on October 11, 2015. Together they had two children: Shayde and Nolan. Colter helped to raise Peyton, Andi's son, and treated him as his own. The coupled enjoyed having friends over and hosting family for the holidays at their house.
Colter enjoyed tubing at the lake and working on cars. He could build just about anything and was always busy doing something. When Colter needed to calm down and relax, he would listen to music as loud as he could and loved to sing along. Colter was a kid at heart and would tell it like it was no matter what.
Colter was preceded in death by his grandparents: Duane and NaDyne Ekberg; Dave and Joan Bronstad; great-grandparents: Frank and Veda Ekberg; Louise Hilton-Billeter and Russell Billeter; Wayne Hilton; and his aunt, Julie Ekberg.
He leaves to celebrate his life; his wife Andi Bronstad; five children: Shayde and Nolan Bronstad; Mercadese, Jerzey, and Colter Jr. Bronstad; his mother, Rhonda Bronstad; his father, James Bronstad and his wife Crystal; his siblings: Cassie Carter and her husband, Jake; Cody Bronstad; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
