Connie Faye Rohde, 74 years of age, of Lexington, Nebraska, formerly of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Avamere at Lexington. Connie was born December 19, 1946, in Kearney, Nebraska, the youngest of two children born to Lee E. and Jeanne M. (Veal) Sleicher. She received her primary education from Burr Oak Country School in rural Custer County and then attended Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1965.
On September 4, 1965, Connie was united in marriage to Lonnie Rohde at the Eddyville United Brethren Church and to this union; they were blessed with two children: Kelly and Kory. The family made their home in Overton, where Connie was employed for Overton Public Schools as a cook, custodian and school bus driver for many years. She also worked at Betsy's Bobbins, Mo's Grocery, and babysat for many teachers' children, while living across the street from the school.
Connie loved to travel with Lonnie and their friends and family. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and cheering on the Huskers. When Connie and Lonnie moved to Johnson Lake, she enjoyed hosting family and friends. Most of all, Connie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her joy and she enjoyed attending as many of their activities as possible.
Connie was a faithful member of the Westmark Evangelical Free Church. She left a legacy to her family of God's amazing love and grace, and was an example to all who knew her.
Besides her parents, Connie was preceded in death by; her brother, James Sleicher; in-laws, Homer and Aileen Rohde; and brother-in-law, Anthony R. "Tony" Rohde.
Connie leaves to celebrate her life; her husband of 55 years, Lonnie Rohde of Lexington; daughter, Kelly Buck and her husband, Jerry of Lexington; son, Kory Rohde and his wife, Angel of Wallace, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Emily Hodgson and her husband, Joel of Lexington; Abbey Rohde and her friend, Connor McConville of McCook, Nebraska; and Tyler Buck of Lincoln, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law: Sandra Sleicher of Kearney; and Sue Moomey and her husband, Tim of Holdrege, Nebraska; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
