A Memorial Service for Connie Tams will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford, Nebraska with Pastor Thalia Woodworth officiating. A private inurnment will be held at the Stamford Cemetery at a later date.

Connie D'Lynn Tams, 77 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family. Connie was born on February 17, 1945, in Hendley, Nebraska the fourth of six children, born to Ehme and Marie (Hunnicutt) Wolzen. She received her education from Hendley and Stamford Schools and graduated from Oxford High School in 1970.

On March 19th, 1961 Connie was united in marriage to Rodney Tams at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford. The couple made their home in Oxford and to this union three children were born: Richele "Ricky", Christopher, and Benjamin

Connie wore several different hats in her working career employed at Better Buys, Oxford Café, Fritzer Memorial Hospital, and Becton-Dickinson until her retirement in 2002, then enjoyed working at Thelma Lou's and the Oxford Thrift Store until her health declined.

She was a member of the Mrs. Jaycee's, a card club, and the Trinity Lutheran Church.  Connie was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, taking pictures, redecorating the house every couple of years and her many cats. She was known for her plethora of shoes, jewelry, and clothing.

Connie was preceded in death by: an infant daughter, her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Helen Tams, brothers Jack(Mary Jane) and Charles(Fern) Wolzen, sisters Genie(Bill) Keezer and Bobby Hellner, nephew Charlie Peacock and brother-in-law, Gayle Tams.

Connie is survived by her husband, Rod Tams of Oxford; three children: Chris Tams of Oxford; Ricky Quinn and her husband, Bobby of Oxford; and Ben Tams and his wife, Stacey of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandchildren:  Randi Quinn of Lincoln, Morgan (Jessica) Quinn of Hastings, Macenzie (Donnie) Rech of Ulysses, Kaitlyn and Kourtney Tams of Texas, and Jace and Kate Tams of Council Bluffs; great-grandchildren:  Jackson Kessler of Lincoln, Bailey and Ruby Quinn of Hastings, and Blakelee Smith and Simon Rech of Ulysses; sister, Toni Peacock (Cal) of Valley; sister-in-law, Patty Ann Tams of Stamford; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial book signing will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Connie's honor, and kindly suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford and the Oxford Feline Friends.
