Connor J. Hill

A Memorial Service for Connor J. Hill will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bertrand Community Building in Bertrand, Nebraska, with Pastors Noah Tyler and Ryan Thies officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a future time.

Our gentle giant, Connor John Hill, 14 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Bertrand. Connor was born on February 28, 2012, during a tornado warning, in Holdrege, to parents, Westley Hill and Millie Pearce.

At home, he was always running around with a nerf gun or toy sword fighting bad guys and occasionally teasing his sister, while laughing like there was nothing else, he'd rather be doing. Legos recently became an obsession and his room was full of all his recent builds.

You could often find him playing Minecraft with his siblings or chilling watching a movie.  Connor enjoyed multiple hunting trips with his dad and brother, just being boys together. He attended Bertrand Public School, where he was active in band, football and basketball. Music was a huge part of Connor's life and he unapologetically marched to the beat of his own drum.

He had a way of just impacting anyone he met, and he gave the greatest hugs (if you received one you know), and had a trademark smile. He loved his family deeply and left his mark on all of us. He was greatly loved by his community and will be forever missed. Connor would want you all to know, in the lyrics of one of his favorite songs, "Don't mine at night!"

He is survived by:  his father, Westley (Kyla); mother Millie (John); his siblings:  Hunter and Bailey; Ma'amae Cindy; Grampy Gary; and Papa Steve; along with multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation will be held prior to cremation.  A memorial book signing will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bertrand Community Building, Bertrand, Nebraska, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for future designation.
