Hattie Corinne Kohlun, 66 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska (formerly of Orleans) passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society – Colonial Villa in Alma. Corinne was born October 28, 1951 in Holdrege, Nebraska, the daughter of Joseph Henry and Clara Evaline (Bose) Kohlun. Corinne was baptized and a lifelong member of the Orleans Presbyterian Church. She attended Orleans Public School, and graduated from Orleans High School with the class of 1970. Corinne then pursued higher education at Kearney State College.

Following her education the family made their home in Orleans, where Corinne worked as a child care provider for Duane and Leanna Henry; and delivered newspaper for the Kearney Hub and Hastings Tribune for many years. Years ago, she was honored to be Carrier of the Month for the Kearney Hub for her dedicated service. Corinne also served as part of the custodial staff at the Orleans School, through the Green Thumb program. In later years, she also enjoyed helping Charlene Hunt at the Melrose Café.

When Corinne was young, she enjoyed her involvement with the Mighty Mites 4-H Club, and Girl Scouts. Corinne was also a member of the Carter Cheer Club, Orleans Civic Club, and was a 40+ year member of the Orleans American Legion Auxiliary. Corinne also loved her pastime of reading at the library, and playing cards with family. She was an avid Husker football fan, enjoyed photography, and could often be found taking many photos with her camera with flash cubes at family gatherings. At Thanksgiving, or Christmas get-togethers, she would make wonderful rolls and apple pies from scratch. Most of all, Corinne enjoyed being around her family, especially the time spent with her nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in by her parents; two brothers-in-law: William Nienkamp, and John Gunia, Jr.; and one niece, Stephanie Jo Prasch.

Corinne leaves to celebrate her life; her four sisters: Anita Sue Clement and her husband, Roderick of Grand Island, Nebraska; Bonnie Nienkamp of Crete, Nebraska; Sandra Prasch of Yutan, Nebraska; and Judy Gunia of Omaha, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church.
