Funeral Services for Courtney Z. Massoudi will be conducted from the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Kirwin Stewart, officiating. Interment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.
Courtney Zari Massoudi, 27 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska following a fall at her home. Courtney was born November 11, 1979 at Kearney, Nebraska, the only child of Hamid and Gail (Johnson) Massoudi. She received her education from Holdrege, graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1998. Courtney then pursued higher education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Psycho Biology. Following her education, Courtney was employed at Curtis, Nebraska in marketing at the Highline Enterprises. She then returned back to Holdrege and was currently employed by Industrial Pipelines as the Office Manager. Courtney was planning to continue her education on her Master's Degree in Psychology and in the future marry her longtime boyfriend, Jake Slater.
Courtney enjoyed horseback riding, traveling, walking, attending rodeos, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dog, Asti. Courtney's beauty, laughter and smile were infectious to those she loved and those who loved her.
She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Gail Sughroue and her dad, Mike Sughroue; her biological father, Hamid Massoudi of California; grandmother, Ruth Sughroue of Indianola, Nebraska; two brothers: Sam Sughroue and Jason Sughroue both of Holdrege; two sisters: Sarah Selph and her husband, Blake of Omaha, Nebraska and Shana Sughroue of Kearney; special friend, Jake Slater and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lester and Mable Johnson and paternal grandfather, Kenneth Sughroue.
Courtney will lie in state at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege on Friday, September 21, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
