A Funeral Service for Creig Mills will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Murray Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.

Creig Eugene Mills, 65 years of age, of Holdrege, died on Monday, September 27, 2021, at the Bryan Health – West Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Creig was born on March 19, 1956, in Loup City, Nebraska, the third of six children, born to Douglas, III and Joyce (Livermore) Mills.  Creig received his education from Broken Bow Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1975. While in high school, Creig was active with and traveled with Pioneers for Christ and participated with quizbowls, and ran cross country. He pursued higher education from Grace College of the Bible in Omaha, Nebraska.

Creig was united in marriage to Rebecca Engelhardt and they were blessed with five children: Luke, Paul, Caleb, Amber, and Nayle. The family made their home in Brewster, Kansas, and later Kansas City.

Together the family enjoyed boating, KC Chiefs Football, and Gospel Music. Creig was a proud father, and grandfather.

He enjoyed breaking and training colts; and working with horses, leading Bible studies, and sharing the Gospel with everyone.  Creig could strike up a conversation with anyone and was a friend to all.  He will be remembered for his kindness, gentle hearted-ness, and working harder than anyone else.  He enjoyed spending time with his family; from wrestling meets, meeting for dinner, and spoiling his grandchildren.

Creig owned and operated Creig's Custom Floors, and enjoyed laying floors for over 30 years.

Creig was preceded in death by, his father, Douglas Mills, III in 1999; his twin brother, Greg Mills in 2018; brother-in-law, Allen Neth in 2021.

Creig leaves to celebrate his life; son, Luke Mills and his wife, Jennifer of Holdrege; Paul Mills and his wife, Paige of Kearney; Caleb Mills and his husband, Jose Lopez of Kansas City, Kansas; Amber Mills of Savanah, Georgia; and Nayle Mills of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren:  Adriana, Kysen, Keiley, Kole, Annalynne, Caiden, Joseph, and Amelia; mother, Joyce Mills of Holdrege; four siblings:  Peggy Neth of Broken Bow; Pam Canady and her husband, Jim of Calumet, Michigan; Rusty Mills and his wife, Kirsten of Warsaw, Indiana; and Amy Keller and her husband, Joe of Holdrege; sister-in-law, Nancy Mills of Brewster, Kansas; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Creig's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
