Funeral Services for Curtis Blue will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Mr. Neil McInturf officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery at Oxford.
Curtis Alan "Curt" Blue, 62 years of age, of Oxford, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his daughter's home in Holdrege, Nebraska after a courageous battle against cancer. Curt was born July 21, 1954 in Oxford, the youngest of four sons to Andrew Enos and Carol Jean (Best) Blue. He received his primary education in Oxford and graduated from Oxford High School. He pursued higher education from Hastings College and later received his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Kearney State College. Curt worked for Becton Dickenson for many years, working in the IT Department until his retirement.
On June 7, 1975, he was united in marriage to Terreen Lee "Terre" Meader. To this union two children were born: Michelle Terreen and Aaron James. The family made their home in Oxford.
On June 22, 1996, he was united in marriage to Shirley Rae Blincow. The couple also made their home in Oxford.
Curt enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and socializing with his many friends. Curt was loved by many and could always put a smile on someone's face. After his retirement, he enjoyed visiting Historical Sites throughout Nebraska. He was a member of the Oxford Fire and Rescue Squad, Oxford Jaycees, NRA, and a card carrying Official Member of the Pabst Blue Ribbon Club.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Enos Blue; wives, Terre in 1992 and Shirley in 2014; son, Aaron James Blue; and one brother, Wallace James Malone.
Curt leaves to celebrate his life; his daughter, Michelle Hunter and her husband, Travis of Holdrege; grandchildren: McKenna, Max, Amelia and Alivia Hunter; step-children: Kala Greenwalt and husband, Brian, Bill Grossnicklaus and wife, Melanie, Chris Sladky, Kim Crozier and husband Jeff; step-grandchildren: Logan, Lucus, Rebekah, Aldan, Ashley, Skyler, Carson, Bella, Evan, and Ilana; mother, Carol Blue; two brothers: Don Blue and wife Carol, Ron Blue and wife, Pam; sisters-in-law: Pam Rademaker and husband, Doyle, Shari Geer and husband, Kelly; brother-in-law, Brad Meader; his faithful dog, Jack; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford.
A memorial has been established in Curt's honor and kindly suggested to the Oxford Fire and Rescue Squad.
