A private family graveside memorial service for Cynthia K. Frink will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Murray Jones officiating.

Cynthia Kay Frink, 79 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2023, at her home in Holdrege. Cynthia was born in Berkley, California on October 16, 1943, the second of three children born to Marion and Pearl (Leach) Niles. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Oxford.  Cynthia received her primary education from Mascot Public School and graduated from Oxford High School with the class of 1962.  During her school years, she enjoyed 4H for 10 years, typing, playing volleyball, and helping her mom on the family farm.

After graduation, she went to Omaha, Nebraska, and began working at the Child Saving Institution.  She met her future husband, Paul E. Frink while working in Omaha.  They returned to Holdrege and were united in marriage at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege.   To this union three children were born:  Teresa, Craig, and Angela.  They would later divorce.

She began working for Dr. Peterson at the hospital, Dr. Brewster at the hospital; and later worked for the Holdrege Police Department as a Meter Maid.  Cynthia dedicated her life to taking care of others; she worked for over 27 years at Christian Homes Care Community, retiring due to health reasons.

Cynthia enjoyed playing pool, dancing, and playing cards.  She and her daughter, Angie always had a garden of tomatoes.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Teresa Lynn; son, Craig; brothers:  Randy Maruhn; and Ron Niles; and an aunt, Norma (Verbeck) Holenda.

Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Angie Ekberg of Holdrege; three grandchildren:  Blake Ekberg, Alexis Ekberg, and Cheyenne Frink, all of Holdrege; four great-grandchildren:  Ezibella, Jason, Tycen, and Noveyleigh; one brother, Leroy Maruhn and wife, Janet of Red Cloud, Nebraska; two sisters:  Lois French of Indiana; and Bonita Loper and husband, Dick of Arizona; sister-in-law, Phyllis Niles of Adams, Nebraska; special friends:  RaDonna Dahlgren and family; Betty Duncan; and Wanda and Scott Jackson; along with many nieces, nephews and many friends.

There will not be a visitation or viewing.  The family is honoring her wish for cremation.

Memorials can be made in Cynthia's honor and made to the family for future designation.
