A graveside service for Dale F. Balthazor will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Clyde, Kansas with Military Honors.

Dale Fredrick Balthazor, 95 years of age, of Phillipsburg, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in Holdrege. Dale was born in Concordia, Kansas on August 11, 1930, the second of four children, born to George and Grace (Ostrander) Balthazor. He received his education from Clifton Public School in Clifton, Kansas and graduated with the class of 1948.

Following his education, Dale was inducted into the United States Army, where he achieved the rank of Sargent and was honorably discharged in 1951.

On June 20, 1954, Dale was united in marriage to Anna Lotte Horn in Clifton-Clyde, Kansas, and to this union two children were born: Jana Marie and Brad Allan. The couple made their home in Phillipsburg, where Dale worked for the Corporation Commission of the State of Kansas.

Dale enjoyed working in his yard, collecting Coins, Clocks, and antiques. Dale and Anna liked playing BINGO together, and would go gambling when they visited their son in Topeka.

He was a member of the Myers-Hesler VFW Post 1360 in Phillipsburg. Dale was a devout Catholic and a member of Saints Philip & James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Balthazor; his daughter, Jana Guthrie and her husband, Kenneth; his brother, Robert Balthazor; and two brothers-in-law: Robert "Nick" Nicholson; and Steve Dowson.

Dale is survived by his son, Brad Balthazor of Topeka, Kansas; two grandchildren: Jasen Guthrie and his wife, Tanya of Norton, Kansas; Alicia Norton and her husband, Jeremy of Holdrege; eight great-grandchildren: Fayth Smith and her husband, Drew; Breven Sondergaard and his wife, MaChelle; Kyleigh Lennemann and her husband, Stuart; Gracie Ketterl and her husband, Ryan; Taylor Fulmer and her husband, Zaiden; Olivia Lentz and her fiancé, Seth Tilson; Kennedie Norton; and Jakob Norton; six great-great-grandchildren: Kaine Crow; Paxton Norton; Ryker Smith; Ryftin Norton-Fulmer; Beckett Ketterl; and one more baby girl on the way; two sisters: Marge Nicholson; Trudy Dowson; one sister-in-law, Hazel Balthazor; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation with Rosery will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Dale's honor and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
