Memorial Graveside Services and Inurnment for Daniel R. James will be conducted from the Gaylord Cemetery at Gaylord, Kansas with his brother, Pastor Thomas James, officiating on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
Daniel Ray James, 50 years of age, of Wilcox, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born December 31, 1960 at Osborne, Kansas, the son of Robert L. and Elda M. (Widener) James. He received his primary education from Gaylord Elementary School and then the family moved Kensington, Kansas, where he attended high school. Following his education he served his country in the United States Army Reserves from 1978 until his honorable discharge in 1987.
Danny was united in marriage to ParisLee Barnes on March 16, 1985 at Hastings, Nebraska and to this union one daughter was born, Savanna Lynn. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Danny was employed by Stewarts Tree Service and George's Nursery. The family then returned to Danny's home town of Kensington, where he was employed as a Grain Manager of the Pro-Ag Marketing Elevator. In 2007 they moved back to Nebraska, where they resided in Wilcox until his passing.
Danny was a member of the Pleasant Green Assembly of God Church of rural Agra, Kansas. Danny's interests were fishing and he also enjoyed his time spent at the Harlan County Lake with his family and friends. He was an avid fan of old Western movies on TV and loved Pro Wrestling. Most of all, he enjoyed celebrating life with his daughter and wife.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents. Danny leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Paris and daughter, Savanna Lynn James both of Wilcox; his mother, Elda Lyon and her husband, Loren of Kensington; two brothers: Samuel James and his wife, Lana of Blue Hill, Nebraska and Thomas James and his wife, Lisa of Clarksville, Tennessee; step-brother, Matthew Lyon and his wife, Shawna of Hays, Kansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation, the family is honoring his wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in his memory and will designated at a later date.
