Darlene H. Fetters

A funeral service for Darlene H. Fetters will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Reverend Kenton Birtell officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Darlene Helen Fetters, 92 years of age, of Holdrege, formerly of Loomis, Nebraska, passed away, on August 24, 2024, at Holdrege Memorial Homes. Darlene was born in Holdrege, on February 3, 1932, the oldest of two children, born to George and Helen (Schreiter) Johnson. She received her education from Rock Falls Country School and graduated from Loomis High School, with the class of 1950.

On February 3, 1952, Darlene was united in marriage to Floyd Dale Fetters at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bertrand, Nebraska, and to this union, six children were born: Bob, Rod, Randy, Rich, Mary, and Roger. The couple made their home southwest of Loomis where Darlene worked hard raising her children and helping Floyd on the farm.

For Darlene, family always came first. She enjoyed gardening, and cooking, and was an amazing baker. Darlene liked to listen to classical music and attend plays. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bertrand where she was active in the Church Circle, and later the couple transferred their membership to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Shawn Fetters; daughter-in-law, Geraldine Fetters; son-in-law, Lanny Lambrecht; and one nephew, J. P. Johnson.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Floyd of Holdrege; six children: Bob Fetters of Dunning, Nebraska; Rod (Deannah) Fetters of Loomis; Randy (Sandy) Fetters of Jetmore, Kansas; Rich (Virginia) Fetters of Loomis; Mary Lambrecht of Holdrege; and Roger (Teri) Fetters of Holdrege; 11 grandchildren: Shane (Amanda); Michael; Jared; Garrett; Emily; Joe (Amanda); Megan; Drew (Kim); Ethan; Kyler (Gwen); Kelsey (Bill); 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest (Phyllis) Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

There will be no visitation or memorial book signing.
