Memorial Services for David A. Davis will be conducted from the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Murray Jones, officiating. Private Inurnment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege prior to the Memorial Service.
David Allen Davis, 51 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2008 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. David was born April 5, 1957 at Butte, Montana, the son of Doyle N. and Delores Jean (Hoffman) Davis. As a small child, David made his home in Beatrice, Nebraska prior to moving to Bethphage Mission at Axtell, Nebraska in 1982. Later in years, David relocated to Holdrege, where he lived in the group home environment within Bethphage Mission. In 2002, David was able to be transferred to Mid-Nebraska Individual Services and lived at Holdrege with his dear friends.
Since 1985, David has been associated with the Holdrege Recycling Center, where he enjoyed working the truck route collecting cardboard and recyclable products both in Kearney and Holdrege. He enjoyed going fishing every chance he got and loved listening to music, especially Elvis Presley. Halloween was his favorite holiday and The Wizard of Oz was his all-time favorite movie. David also enjoyed attending services at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege.
David leaves to mourn his passing his close friends, Brenda Bergstrom and her husband, David of Funk, Nebraska and their children: Bobi Kaup of Holdrege and Bridgette, Breanna and Dalton Bergstrom all of Funk; special roommates at his group home and his family of friends and staff at Mid-Nebraska and Mosaic. His parents preceded him in death.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial has been established in his memory and kindly suggested to The Gideons International for placement of Bibles or The Light For The Lost Organization.
